For New Year’s Eve we stayed at Vdara in a Panoramic Suite on the 8th floor. The amount of windows in the suite is amazing!

Vdara is the most luxury for the money on the Strip. The basic room is a sprawling suite and both sides of the hotel offer breathtaking views, the higher the better. Because it doesn’t have a casino directly underneath it you can find weekend rates a little over $100 a night.
These pictures are from my second stay at Vdara and as you can tell from the picture above I received a room on the Bellagio Fountain side. The room is made to perfection. You walk in and see the full kitchenette. This definitely doesn’t make or break the room because why would you eat there anyway, but there is a second fridge, which you can use to keep things cool. Refrigerators are not standard in Vegas hotel rooms, so cherish this item and put it to good use.
For a full tour of the room watch the video above, but let me walk you through some of the highlights. Each room has a pullout couch. This is a big deal when you want to make sure everyone has a place to sleep. In addition to the king bed you can fit four people very comfortably in the room. In one of the basic suite’s floor plan, you have a divider between the couch and bed. Both sides sport a flat screen tv, which is great for catching a few minutes of the game you bet on while your roommates are getting ready.
Vdara’s beds are some of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. The basic suite comes with a huge king size bed and you will fall asleep almost immediately despite your state of drunkenness. Around the bed there are drawers in case you need some places to put your clothes or stash some food. On either side of the bed, and all around the room there are mirrors. This is great news for all of you who want to look your best, because this room will not let you leave without seeing yourself at least three times.
The closet features hangers… that you can take out to better hang your clothes up. Most hotels attach all the hangers to the bar assuming you will steal them. There is also an iron and ironing board for those wrinkly dress shirts. Lastly, there is a standard size safe for you to lock your valuables in.
The bathroom is spacious leaving enough room for a full bathtub and a shower. The shower door is water tight much like the Wynn and everything is very luxurious. The only problem with the room is the light water pressure. It is a desert after all, and many hotels don’t have great water pressure so this fact shouldn’t knock the hotel down too far.
I personally have not had much luck with the $20 trick. I squeezed a $20 bill between my driver’s license and credit card at the Wynn and the woman working smirks and puts me on the 23 floor facing the golf course. While that wasn’t worth it, ordering flowers from concierge does seem to work. The picture above shows flowers and a balloon, which costs $67. Well worth it considering I was arriving very late on the Friday before July 4th. This forces them to assign me a room because they need to put the flowers somewhere, and I requested a Bellagio Fountain view room and it worked. So if anyone would like a view upgrade ordering something pre-trip might do the trick.
Considering everything Vdara is an amazing hotel. You get the five-star hotel experience for the price of a three-star. I don’t mind walking to the nearest casino and the walk through Bellagio is not bad at all. On the plus side Vdara is very close to the tram running between Monte Carlo and Bellagio so it is very well connected. With the opening of Cosmopolitan you have another walking option. You can walk directly down the stairs to the left of the entrance (facing Aria) and you can walk through the check-in side of Cosmopolitan in less than five minutes. This makes Vdara one of my favorite hotels to stay in and I’m sure I’ll be back.
