Excalibur is a castle themed budget hotel on the Strip. It is one of the best cheaper hotels and I have seen room rates below $30 a night, so don’t rule it out if you want to save some money. You are only sleeping there anyway right? The rooms are average and can be compared to a Super 8, but they are clean. If you like the south part of the Strip Excalibur has a pretty good location being across the street from New York-New York and MGM Grand. Excalibur also has a great pool area considering the quality of the hotel. There is plenty of room to swim or lounge. If you like to spend time in Luxor or Mandalay bay, there is a free tram that goes between all three casinos starting at Excalibur.

Excalibur’s casino is a little run down, but it can be worthwhile if you like  lower limit table games.  The atmosphere is rowdy and exciting as the floor is usually decently crowded and when someone wins you will hear it.  The poker room has been changed to be electronic so no real chips are involved.
